alright so here is a little rant

I really don’t like the age of adz.  the first two tracks are good and i do like Vesuvius.  I even like the last three minutes of impossible soul.  However that doesn’t say much, 3 minutes out of 25 is not a good thing.  I listened to this album a lot it got up to 8 plays in my i tunes.  however i recently had to make room on my computer and i was not sad to throw this in the trash (yay for macs).  I think this album has really weak melodies.  People have said before that they love this album and i ask “oh really, what song do you love” the response is usually “I don’t know all the tracks that well yet but I’m really getting into it.”  sometimes people say the ones they love but they can’t sing it “ya I can’t remember how it goes but I remember liking it.”  Others start to sing it and then stop because it just sounds weird a capella. Which leads me to believe that the album relies on the electronics way too much.  It’s my personal belief that a good song shouldn’t always rely on the instrumentation.   Animal collective is a great band but their take away shows suck, they just really suck so much.  My belief is that sufjan somehow got away with age of adz because it’s weird it’s tolerable to most and but mainly because he’s sufjan.  it’s been so long since Illinoise that we had no standard for his music. we forgot about him and when he popped up we went HEY! HE’S BACK AND HE’s SINGING INSTEAD OF WRITING VIOLIN PARTS FOR  SOME HIGHWAY NOBODY CARES ABOUT!!!!!! One guy I met asked me how many times I had listened to the album I responded 6 times all the way through.  thats around 7 hours and thirty minutes of my life. I think 7 hours of wind chimes would be a hundred times better for my mind and soul.  he then went “Keep listening keep listening” in a tone that said that I wasn’t listening enough.  Basically I should listen enough times to where I’m brainwashed into believing this is a good catchy album.  I’m gonna call BS.  If Sufjan sat down with a guitar and piano and played “to be alone with you”, “John Wayne Gacy Jr.” and “Get Real Get Right” you would probably feel that Get Real Get Right was the weakest.  why?  because it’s not that great of a song.  and  the album might say “I” a lot but it isn’t nearly as personal “as too be alone with you” or “John wayne gacy Jr.”  I don’t even mind the electronics, I actually like them.  It’s just the songs are so lame.  If age of adz was playing in a car the only song worth singing along to is Vesuvius.   I keep waiting for Sufjan to announce that this album was a joke.  it was all music he though was bad but he knew people would buy into it anyways

Blah, I put this video up because I though it was great.  just listen and enjoy, it makes so much more sense.
